A PECULIAR SHADE OF BLUE
A FILMIC STUDY ON THE NATURE OF GRIEF
FILM-SHARE + WORKSHOP
Fri 9th - Sun 11th September 2022
The film-share for A PECULIAR SHADE OF BLUE marks the culmination of a final cycle of development prior before moving on to film festivals and / or live performance.
At this stage, A PECULIAR SHADE OF BLUE will visit Sweden to gather audience feedback. Please note this will be an interactive event, where responses play a vital role in guiding the project.
This showing is most suited to existing supporters of the project or, remembering the piece works through deep time and slow cinema, those who have interest in experimental / environmental genres of film-theatre.
Friday 9th September
(15.00 - 20.30)
Takes the form of a short one day workshop, to include a talk, share of the 6 short films or stanzas, (each running to approx 15 mins) with discussion to follow.
30 places max.
This may be joined as an evening only event.
2 DAY WORKSHOP
Sat 10th (10.00 - 21.00)
+ Sun 11th Sept (10.00 - 17.00)
The films are potent, and designed to provoke exploration around the nature of grief in these times. Working from the organic impulse arising out of audience response, we revisit the films and follow through with a combination of earth-work, dance movement and discussion.
12 Places max.
Participants attending the workshop must also attend the film-share.
THEATRE COMMUNITY + HORSES
SCENKONST GERLESBORG is an established theatre community working through movement and physical theatre, in a way that is in-line to Spiderflower's approach. There is quite some excitement about our meeting and what fruits this may bring!
An important part of Scenkonst Gerlesborg's work is with EMELIE CAJSDOTTER who has extraordinary skill in working with horses as a healer and translator - in the way that the horse is the teacher - in turn, she works closely with Scenkonst Gerlesborg's community of actors.
As this is my first visit, relationships will be landing and developing, so we must give space to this. But, it is my hope the combination of Eva, Michael and theatre community at Scenkonst Gerlesborg, combined with Emelie, the horse/s that may grace us - and Spiderflower's work will go to create something moving and extraordinary.
PRICES + GIFT ECONOMY
As the event is work-in-progress, pricing is based on the gift economy, where a base-line economy is presented to the community attending, from here it is up to the audience to gift as they feel. The principle is heart centred and we each give the best we can.
