The Dance: Roots
Spiderflower is, essentially, a form of Medicine Dance. Existent for thousands and thousands of years within indigenous cultures, Medicine Dance connects its peoples to the land, to the community and what is holy unto them - expressing and celebrating that multi-dimensional relationship.
Medicine Dance carries a much deeper story and understanding than we find in dance forms popular to western culture. It is a communion and can be experienced as a form of prayer as it is concerned with acknowledging and dancing with forces that sustain and give life in a reverent and devotional way.
